Wise In Anger
Wise in anger ~ The foundation of God's word for the theme of being wise in anger, is taken from the book of Nehemiah. Thus says the Lord: “So I was very angry; when I heard their complaints and the news” - Nehemiah 5:6.
What makes us angry? How do we usually deal with anger? Sometimes we regret the anger that has already gone. Sometimes the reasons for my anger are justified, but I'm not smart enough to express my anger.
Also, there are times when I get angry because I am immoral. regret later. I realized that I still have to learn from Aristotle's saying, "Easy to anger. Easy to anger. Easy to anger." Anyone can do it. But to be angry with the right people, in the right amount, at the right time, for the right purpose, in the right way is not easy, and not everyone can do it. ”
When Nehemiah pursued the happiness of the Jewish people by building the walls of Jerusalem, he was confronted by those seeking to profit from the misfortunes of others. The rich are using the current famine and economic crisis to control the lives and wealth of others. They sold their brothers into slavery.
When Nehemiah heard this accusation, he was very angry.
Nehemiah was so angry that he remained vigilant. He thought carefully about what and how best to act (v. 7). It was also an opportunity for him to pray and seek God's wisdom.
He also made the right decision to encourage everyone and help them follow God. Righteous anger does good to others and glorifies the name of God.
Have a good day, keep the spirit and always rely on the Lord Jesus. May the Lord Jesus bless our life, family, work and ministry together. Amen.
