Obidience Produces Rewards

Obedience produces rewards ~ The foundation of God's word for the theme of our meditation is taken from the Book of Numbers. Thus the word of God: “Except Caleb son of Yephneh and Joshua son of Nun may not enter the land that I have sworn to live in you” – Numbers 14:30.

This world is full of injustice. What we expect is often the opposite. Many people still sin and suffer, even though they try to live righteously. On the other hand, the way of life of people who are far from the truth actually looks good and comfortable. Those who do right are like the oppressed who are always called upon to yield. In fact, one must bear the consequences of other people's mistakes.

If so, what can we say about Caleb and Joshua? When people rebel against believing God’s promises, Joshua and Caleb desperately urge them to keep believing. It’s a shame that people are so stubborn!

All generations were destroyed by God in the desert, and no one except Joshua and Caleb were allowed to enter the land of Canaan. Joshua and Caleb proved to be righteous and loyal to God, but they both had to walk in the wilderness for 40 years. Joshua and Caleb could have protested this injustice. But they chose not to become weak in faith, protecting their hearts while sharing the suffering of others.

How do we react when we witness injustice? Do you think it's useless to live purely before God? Or vice versa, do we choose to act like Joshua and Caleb, who live righteously and still believe in God's Word, even when reality doesn’t match our expectations? May God find a pure and faithful heart in our life.

Have a good day, keep the spirit and always rely on the Lord Jesus. May the Lord Jesus bless our life, family, work and ministry. Amen.
