Invisible But Effective

Invisible but Effective ~ The basic word of God for the subject of our meditation is quoted from the Gospel of Mark. The Lord said, “But Jesus answered, ‘You must feed them.’ They said, ‘Will you go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread to feed them?” – Mark 6:37.

Roots don’t ask, “When do leaves turn green?.” We don’t ask, “When will you be a beautiful flower?.” Why? Because, even though you can’t see him, he is a wooden stake. Keep your roots inconspicuous. Roots work continually and faithfully for stems, leaves, and flowers but are never praised.

No roots, no strong stems, no shady branches, no green leaves, no beautiful flowers, no ripe fruits All this exists because there are always roots waiting. Selfless work. Do work without asking for credit. Stems, flowers, leaves, and other parts of trees, even in the lowest and most hidden places, eventually find themselves in the toil of their roots. Root would die proud because his life had never depended on anything else.

Shouldn’t such a philosophy be the foundation of our ministry? Christ is the perfect example for us. Like the roots of his philosophy, Jesus really understands his role in living the calling of the Father. He didn't come to be served; he came to serve. He came not to receive, but to give. The goal is not to find food; but to maintain it. He asked for no mercy, preferring to care for and help those who needed him.

Serving and giving are the roots of learning – service to God and others. Don’t be shy, and focus on God as He serves. Even if you can’t see yourself, you have influence.

Work well, keep the spirit, and put the Lord Jesus first. May the Lord Jesus bless our lives, our families, our work, and our ministry. Amen
